Lilac 1
Plant Collected: Lilac
Date Collected: May 7, 2011
Part of plant used and amount: Leaves- Enough to fill ½ 16 qt pot. Collected just before flowers bloom.
Extraction process notes: Fill with enough water to cover the plant material. Simmer for 2 hrs. Let cool overnight. Strain
Dye Recipe
Material/ WOF: Icelandic wool 1 oz
Dye/volume: 3 cups
Mordant/amount: alum 15% WOF
Additions: none
Recipe notes: Simmer fiber in alum for 1 hr and let cool. Rinse fiber and add to the dye bath. Simmer for 1 1/2 hrs on med heat. Cool. Rinse until water runs clear.

Dye/volume: 7 cps
Mordant/amount: ¼ tsp iron
Additions: None
Recipe notes: Simmer fiber in iron for 2 hr and let cool. Rinse fiber and add to the dye bath. Simmer for 4 hrs on med heat. Cool. Rinse until water runs clear.
Tiger Lily
