Thank you for your interest in sourcing regional, regeneratively grown fibers. There are different ways you can work with Laura and New York Textile Lab's network:
NYS Regional Yarn Sourcebook Membership
You can download the NYS Regional Yarn Sourcebook. Here you'll find some NYS farms that are part of our network and are producing beautiful handcrafting yarns and fibers.
Consultation Services
As a designer, you may just want to meet up for an hour to learn about where to source regional, Climate Beneficial™ yarns and fibers. Or you might need more assistance managing your sampling and production. Since Laura works primarily with small brands and startups she can put together a consultation proposal for you that's workable for small budgets. Please reach out to Laura to set up a brief call to discuss your needs and see if it makes sense to work with her.
Carbon Farm Network Purchasing Cooperative
Laura is part of a purchasing cooperative with a few other designers. Together they purchase fiber from regional farms and make yarns in order to meet minimums. Their Carbon Farm Network supports Carbon Farm Planning on the farms they are partnered with. The Carbon Farm Network develops yarns that are Climate Beneficial™ here in NYS. Designers who are not members of their Carbon Farm Network can still purchase these yarns at sampling prices. The Carbon Farm Network is also open to adding new members. You can set up a meeting with Laura to learn more about this new economic model.
